Mira Morales is one of the nation's most powerful psychics. She has been involved in more paranormal events than the average person and she wants a break from it all. All she wants now is to have a peaceful vacation with her fiance and her daughter as they drive to rural Asheville, North Carolina to visit her lover's college friends.

She thinks this is going to be a pleasant get-together but instead she is headed towards disaster. For the next few days the three of them are about to go through an ordeal that will test their love for each other as well as their abilities and it will be a race against time if they want to survive.

Mira is kidnapped by a woman that for some reason she is having difficulty reading psychically. Dr Allie Hart has an agenda where everything is set in motion and in position. She has need for Mira and she has to keep her safe in order to achieve her goal. Mira's fiance, FBI agent Wayne Sheppard, and Mira's psychic daughter are in the game trying to find her and time is running out. Unbeknownst to them is that they have some allies coming from an unexpected source that think Allie's plans are jut pure insanity. TOTAL SILENCE is an exciting thrill ride that will have you begging for more.

The novel is the kind of book where you will be leaving creases on the book's cover because of how tight you are grabbing the book due to its intensity. Through the use of flashbacks, MacGregor cleverly unravels a story from the past that sets in motion what Dr Hart has in store for Mira.

The amazing part of this novel is that even with all of the supernatural elements that appear throughout the entire book it almost appears that everything that happens could occur naturally and one does not have to think twice. Being able to track someone psychically appears as if it was a normal thing and it does not leave readers in disbelief.

The point of the book is not the supernatural plus the special effects. It is the desperate story of a kidnapping and a cat-and-mouse game. TOTAL SILENCE is an impressive book and a pleasant surprise that will grab you from page one and does not let you go. There are not that many books that can make that claim even if they recreated this story and have it take place in reality. Great book, great read.
