Celeste Mundy was operating a scam in Los Angeles, involving men and sex videos. When it was time to dissolve her relationships with these men, she left taking with her valuable art artifacts and jewelry and her son, Eddy. She fled to Wichita,Kansas.

The insurance companies of the men who were bilked released an all-points bulletin in an effort to find her and recover the stolen items.

The Wichita police department assigned detective Floyd Lassiter to the case, really not expecting any results. He delves into the mystery of the resemblance between Celeste and reporter, Jes Wellington, and the ties to the small town of Sand Creek.

Celeste is found murdered and her computer geek neighbor, Zach Vincent, inadvertently rescues the baby,Eddy.

Floyd unearths the past of Celeste and Jes who are twin sisters separated years ago. Celeste had been found by one of her Los Angeles victims who will stop at nothing to hide his real identity and recover his stolen property.

Zach,Jes and Floyd become involved in a race to save their lives.

The story is full of mystery, discovery, and of suspense and twists, keeping the reader in doubt about the course of the story. The author has fully explored the relationships of characters to each other and to their environment.
