Salvatore "Junne" Salerno and Mickie Mezzonatti are former cops who are now practicing law in Camden, New Jersey. They are definitely not top tier lawyers of the Harvard persuasion; however, they do get results for those they defend. By their own admission, they borrow from the legal briefs of others to put together their cases, and their clients tend to be drug dealers and Mob types.

One of their main clients is Slippery Williams, a drug lord that they are trying to free from jail. They owe him a blood debt, as he once saved their lives. The truth of the matter is that they are a little bit afraid of Slippery, who is running major drug operations in the area. An electronics dealer who launders money for Slippery, Sami Kahn, also hires Junne and Mickey. They face a real dilemma when they find out that Sami is about to squeal on Slippery. If they break Sami’s confidence and tell Slippery, they would be disbarred. If they don’t tell him, they would be killed. Lovely choice!

Although I usually find learning about legal strategy to be interesting, I didn't find it so in this book, as they often theorized about how they would have done something different from what another lawyer did in court. However, JERSEY LAW was entertaining, and the two lead characters are a personable pair.
