Michael St. Pierre is a former thief who has cleaned up his act and owns his own successful international security firm. One of his closest friends is being held prisoner at a remote Himalayan prison for a failed theft and is about be executed in a few days. No sooner as he arrives to rescue his friend he realizes that there is more to the case than appears. He feels the need to save his friend's partner as well, who is also at the prison, and learns about a major treasure hunt involving a religious artifact. A ruthless billionaire businessman named Philippe Venue whose kingdom is in dire straights craves this object and will do whatever it takes to get it. He will blackmail, kill, kidnap, and torture whoever he has to in order to lay claim to it. It will be up to St. Pierre and his crew to try to get the object first before Venue does.

For St. Pierre the search takes a personal stake as he is trying to move on after his wife's death and starting a new personal relationship with someone he cares about. THE THIEVES OF DARKNESS is an entertaining adventurous thriller involving the heist of their lives. Exotic locales, evil henchmen, some light humor, and lots of action. This book has something for everyone. Even though the book is part of a series, it is not necessary to try to catch up. This book does well on its own and provides good entertainment. Go with the flow and enjoy the ride.
