Holly Nichols, the 6ft tall blonde assistant to Maddie Bean and Wes Westcott in their party planning and catering enterprise, is due to marry Donald Lake in two weeks. As a surprise, Maddie and Wes are taking Holly, her four sisters and her best friend on a destination bridal shower party to a spa on the big island of Hawaii, for a premarital girls' weekend out.

Unbeknownst to anyone, Holly, on prom night, had run off to Las Vegas with the school nerd, Marvin Dubinsky. She had gone to the prom with him because she felt sorry for him. They married on a lark and never got divorced. Nor had Holly ever disclosed this fact to anyone, until she starts getting threatening e-mails addressed to Holly Dubinsky. She confesses this just before they leave for the weekend.

They get to the spa and are going into their rooms to unpack and get ready for the festivities. Holly is sharing with her best friend Liz Mooney. There is a bit of a ruckus and Holly comes running to Maddie with the information that she just hit a man on the head with a lamp and Liz has fainted. When the manager later comes to check out the report of a lurker, the room has been put back in order and there is no sign of damage.

There is a private luau that night for Holly and the next day a whole day of relaxation is planned at the spa, with massages and facials and everything that the spa has to offer. But the boyfriend of one of the attendants has been found dead. This puts a bit of a damper on Maddie who goes out and tries to find out what happened.

Number seven in the series is just as entertaining as the first (SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL) and provides a look at the Hawaii most of us will never see, as well as some interesting foodie tidbits.
