Harry Bosch might have retired from the Los Angeles Police Department eight months ago but one case is still haunting him. A few years earlier a womanıs body was found in the lobby of her apartment house. Because of the lack of blood the police believed that the woman was placed there after she was murdered. It also looked like the woman was raped but Harry didnıt really believe that since the evidence of sexual activity was not consistent to that crime. But it was the placement of the womanıs hands that haunted Harry. They looked like they were begging for help.

The victim worked at a movie studio where a film was being made about the robbery of $2 million dollars. The director of the film insisted that real currency be used. On the day the bank sent the cash to the set, robbers absconded with the loot killing one agent from the bank and wounding another. The stolen money was never found but authorities thought that the dead woman had something to do with the robbery.

Shortly after the money was taken from the movie set Harry Bosch was removed from the investigation but the dead woman has never left his dreams. Harry, only armed with his new P.I. license, decides to investigate the murder.

But Harry is stepping into dangerous territory. For some reason the FBI and other law enforcement agencies have reopened the old case and Harry is told in no uncertain terms that he had better stop his investigation immediately. Since Harry is a private citizen he isnıt going to listen to any warnings, especially now, for heıs getting additional information about the case from another detective who was assigned to the case. An FBI agent was reported missing shortly after the money was stolen and it seems the missing agent was somehow involved. And for reasons that Harry cannot understand, the FBI believes that a terrorist group was also involved in the robbery.

Once again author Michael Connelly has written a tightly woven story involving his popular Harry Bosch character in LOST LIGHT. The plot line is exciting and full of many twists and turns that keeps the reader guessing.

There is one very horrifying scene that shows how an FBI agent tries to get information from a handicapped ex-detective. This section showcases Mr Connellyıs skill dealing with characterization and emotion.

Also included in this book is Harry's ex-wife, who now lives in Las Vegas with someone else and Harry finds himself jealous. We also see many of Harryıs old friends from the police force making guest appearances.

LOST LIGHT is a brilliant book that is almost impossible to put down once you start reading. The Harry Bosch series is one of the best and I recommend these books to everyone.
