What is it about the Ambers, the toy animals, that is causing riots and murder?

Rayven Forrester, Chief of CCD (Child Crimes Division), is called to the Tinkering Mind at the Crosslane Shopping Plaza with her brother Quinton, counselor for CCD, and Preston Richards, chief investigator. There is an impending riot because the delivery of the Ambers, toy miniature animals,is delayed. The Ambers are currently the toy in demand which parents must obtain for their demanding children.

In the turmoil one of the store's employees is found killed. Together with detective Rich Adamson Rayven and her team must find the killer and find why this shipment of Ambers is being sought by the gangs of Washington.

This is an easy read with a believable plot. The plot is suspenseful, full of twists which leave the reader in doubt until the final confrontation. The relationships of Rayven, Quinton and Preston are treated with depth, involving the reader's feelings. This is an enjoyable police procedural with enough action, romance and suspense to satisfy the reader. The story gives evidence of what lengths parents will go to to satisfy their children's desires and demands.
