Sunny McCloskey, chef and owner of Wildside is one of five well-known chefs who come together to cook 5 different courses for the benefit dinner called the Night of Five Star., She is very attracted to the head chef of Vinifera, Andre Morales. One of the owners of Vinifera is found dead with a broken wine bottle at his feet. The verdict is a heart attack, but Sunny believes there is indication of foul play.

Her search for the murderer which will clear Morales leads her into conflict with detective Steve Harvey, who is investigating the case. She unearths past frauds, hidden identities, and a thirst for revenge.

This is an interesting journey into the wine country of Napa Valley, California. In addition to an intriguing mystery involving missing bottles of wine we are treated to an informative discussion of various vintages of wine. The behind the scenes working of the restaurants are very realistic. The story is well plotted with a unique cast of characters, with witty dialogue. This is well written and an easy and fast read.

Will we be reading more of Sunny McCloskey's adventures in the future? Hopefully, yes.
