When true crime writer Lydia Strong returns from a book signing tour she finds an anonymous letter and a tape of a young girl's desperate plea for her help in rescuing girls in need. The message begs her to find Tatiana Quinn and to protect Tatiana from evil.

Lydia learns that Tatiana, stepdaughter of powerful millionaire Nathan Quinn has been missing. A million dollar reward is offered by Quinn for information about her.The police have made no progress, but some believe that Tatiana has run away from home.

Lydia has a "buzz" about the case. With her lover, exFBI agent Jeffry Mark, departs for Miami to investigate. There they find the detective on the case has been ordered to close the case. Two who were about to give them information are killed.

Jed McIntyre, the imprisoned serial murderer of Lydia's mother is freed from prison by an unknown powerful man. His stalking her is to distract Lydia from her investigation.

Her pursuit of Tatiana and the murderer leads her into the dark world of snuff videos; and to Albania to the Mafia there who sells young girls into prostitution. She must fight the FBI and local law enforcement in addition to forces behind the porno filmmakers.

There is always the specter of McIntyre to be feared.

This is a gripping story of dark forces at work. The disappearance of Tatiana is intriguing, questioning whether it is voluntary or not. The action is fast and suspenseful with a cast of characters clearly depicted with their underlying motives and stresses. The author has described in depth the current state of affairs in Albania with its poverty, desolation and political chaos.
