Bailey Wiggins, a freelance writer who specializes in crime articles, receives a free weekend at a fancy spa courtesy of her mother's friend Danny. She arrives at lovely old lodge, is given a very comfortable room and is more than ready for her first spa treatment. After her massage, as Bailey eats her supper and prepares for bed, she realizes that she has left her watch (her late father's Rolex) in the treatment room; since it is of great sentimental value to her she arranges to go back that same night. She and the therapist, very grumpy to be called back, discover not only the watch, but also the body of Anna, another therapist.

Danny knew Bailey had recently used her skills as an investigative reporter to help clear the name of a friend who was suspected of murder; she asks her to see what she can find out about this death before Monday when she must leave. Danny could lose everything if scandal closes the spa. As she gets closer to the motive and solution of the crime she places herself and some of the other lodge employees in great danger.

In this tightly plotted, fast moving novel there are many folk who could have murdered Anna. There is Josh, the head of the spa treatment department; George, Dannyıs husband, Jim the son of man who had died suddenly of heart failure at the spa the year before, Piper another masseuse, etc. I challenge readers to figure out who dun it before the last third of the book; I couldnıt. I also read Kate White's first novel If Looks Could Kill and I believe if she keeps up this level of writing she will become a well known and respected mystery author. She is clever at plotting, she is very good at characterization and her dialogue is believable. I enjoyed this book even more than I did her first mystery and wouldnıt hesitate to recommend it to others.
