Serena Valiente has not recovered emotionally from the demoralizing divorce she went thru with Kevin. She was faithful to him while he flirted with and slept with most every woman that would have him. She withdrew from most social events and even though her work in the fashion industry and with famous models gave her amply opportunity for fun and encounters with the opposite sex, she preferred to spend her nights at home alone.

Her best friend and supermodel, Kyara, invites Serena to Rome for a visit and doesn’t take no for an answer. Kyara feels that a change of scenery is just what Serena needs to help her recover from the divorce. While sightseeing in Rome, Serena bumps into a man she believes to be a gypsy. When she meets him again later at a party hosted by Kyara, the sparks started by the first encounter blaze into a full-fledged fire of desire.

The man she believed to be a gypsy turns out to be Count Warren Di Spadafiera. When Serena finds out that he let her believe he was a gypsy instead of telling her the truth, she feels both deceived and embarrassed. To get her mind off the situation she accepts a freelance fashion assignment in the Arabian Gulf. There she witness the repression of women and comes to understand just how lucky she is to live where women have freedom.

Ms. Laurens has delivered an exceptional story with exciting and unusual locations, as well as, a great range of emotions experienced by her characters. The excitement of the fashion industry along with the magnetism of royalty fills the book with wonderful backdrops to a dramatic, but tender love story. The book was captivating and since it was based upon true facts, it is all the more enchanting. This praise comes from someone (me) who is not particularly fond of or impressed by romance novels. This one is different. Don’t miss the opportunity to read it.
