Read by the author, the beginning of this CD reminds us of the amazement of survival and mentions atoms, protons and the start of the universe. The Big Bang Theory contains many notions. A substantial length of time has been and is still being spent in discussion of this.

Pluto has a moon, as discovered in 1978. Some people thought that Pluto was not a planet but in 1999, it was ruled as one. In 2006, it is planned that a rocket ship will venture to this planet. This discussion led to talk about space and the enormous nearly unintelligible concept. Now, at this time, it would take ten years to make the trip to Pluto.

One of the most interesting scientific endeavors was a 1735 goal that was led by French scientists to measure the world. It was debated whether the equator portion or the poles were larger. A group went to South America (near Quito, Ecuador) in order to take measurements.

Being a note taker, it is difficult to discern which examples to mention. There are numerous scientists named. Some of the scientists you would normally think of when you say the word, "science." Examples are Mendel, Pasteur, Curie and Darwin. Others are obscure names; nevertheless they are individuals who have made major contributions.

Other subjects broached are bacteria, earthquakes and DNA. As the presentation ends, we are once again reminded that we continue to find answers to questions, which makes us very aware that we still know little about what is under our feet or in our air. The author expresses the excitement and the wonder of our discoveries.

This CD will be especially enjoyed by the environmentalist or science enthusiast.
