Ah, to be a lady of leisure... unless you happen to be a member of the exclusive all-woman Chateau D'Or hunting lodge. At this posh club for the hierarchy of Atlanta, the hunters are becoming the hunted.

In Ruth Birmingham's third installment of the Edgar Award-winning Sunny Child private investigator series, readers are treated to a look behind the lives of the elite. Sunny finds herself, much to her own dismay, undercover at the Chateau D'Or lodge, trying to find clues for a murder more than a year old--an investigation that the very people who hired her had stymied only the year before.

The first few chapters of Cold Trail read a bit like a bad PMS trip, with relatively little to do with the actual storyline. However, following through with the reading is worth the effort. The rest of the story flows smoothly and has enough twists (albeit sometimes obvious ones) and personal revelations to keep any Sunny Child's fan entranced... or make new fans out of first-time readers.
