The New York-based efficiency expert, Abby Doyle, is back for her second mystery-

adventure. A former lover, Todd, invites Abby to meet him at an exclusive resort in the Catskills. She assumes the agenda to be romantic, but Todd has something troubling to discuss with her. He says it can wait till morning.

Well, maybe not because Todd is murdered during the night. Todd had been a government agent investigating the trucking industry and Abby had just been hired to re-structure a trucking company.

Someone tried to kill Abby on the road and was targeting truckers for sometimes fatal "accidents". And who burned down the Catskills resort with Abby in it? Maybe the low-life gangster who had married into society. Maybe the sleazy dispatcher who called himself "Elvis". Maybe the smarmy trucking executive who resented being passed over for leadership in favor of his sister. Maybe the corrupt congressman or the blackmailer with the dirty pictures.

I guess this fast-paced novel has too much action to be called a cozy but it's G-rated for language and content. The author, Mrs. Collins, was a reporter in New York City for many years, so she knows how to write a story without any dull parts. :-)
