Things are hopping in Chilson as Minnie and Rafe prepare to marry, and the library is hit with a few vandalism attacks. And then there's Kristen, who is trying to deal with newborn twins when eight people succumb to food poisoning at Three Seasons, Kristen's restaurant.

Kristen reaches out to Minnie to help find out what happened at Three Seasons, which catapults into murder at another restaurant when Remi, the assistant to one of Kristen's competitors, is found dead. Minnie also discovers there seems to be a growing number of negative reviews for many of the restaurants in Chilson.

Minnie feels there is a connection between the food poisoning, growing posts of negative restaurant reviews, and the murder. Then one of Chilson's high-end restaurants is listed for sale, and the long-time owner wants top price as he retires.

Minnie begins scoping out a few suspects on her list of possibilities.

On the wedding planning side, the officiant had to cancel, and now several people are trying to help Minnie and Rafe find someone to replace him. The shocking truth about the library vandals is finally discovered and addressed after several attempts to catch the culprits with newly installed security cameras bear fruit.

And, despite all the unexpected activity, Minnie, Julia, and Eddie, the bookmobile cat, are making their regular rounds in weather-stressing heat. Minnie's relationship with Eddie provides a sounding board for her diverse investigative theories and the usual feline relief she gets while chatting with him.

NO PAW TO STAND ON is a well-conceived addition to the Bookmobile Cat Mystery series.
