Meyer: A father, a husband, a writer, a reader, a motorcycle rider, curious about everything.
RTE: What's the one record you'd take to a desert island?
Meyer: Mozart's Piano Concerto no. 27, KV 595.
RTE: What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Meyer: A detective, a firefighter, a soldier, a teacher, a rock star and a writer. But then, I'm not quite grown up yet . . .
RTE: Who's your oldest friend?
Meyer: My wife, Anita.
RTE: If I ruled the world...
Meyer: I'd resign from the job right away. One should know your own limitations.
RTE: Which book do you wish you'd written?
Meyer: JM Coetzee's Disgrace.
RTE: What makes you angry?
Meyer: People who harm children.

Meyer: Paris Hilton and her little dog.

Meyer: Reading brilliant authors' wonderful stories.
