Chris Grabenstein worked as an improvisational comedian and advertising writer before moving into crime fiction. He is the author of the John Ceepak series and has started on a ghost story series. Chris also writes children's books.

Grabenstein: Prolific writer of fast-paced page-turners full of fascinating characters.
RTE: What's the one record you'd take to a desert island?
Grabenstein: Bruce Springsteen's newest album Magic.
RTE: What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Grabenstein: A comedian.
RTE: Who's your oldest friend?
Grabenstein: Ronny Venable and Lianne Kressin. Met them in 1973 at college. Still hang out with them in NYC!
RTE: If I ruled the world...
Grabenstein: I'd outlaw Razr scooters for anyone over the age of 12. This achieves my other goal: an end to all wars.
RTE: Which book do you wish you'd written?
Grabenstein: A Prayer for Owen Meany (John Irving).
RTE: What makes you angry?
Grabenstein: Inefficiency at a checkout counter!
RTE: Name your five dream dinner party guests.
Grabenstein: My old pal Ronny Venable (he and I do comedy riffs off each other and would have fun making fun of the others), Jesus Christ, the Loudest Right Wing Fundamentalist Mouthpiece currently popular (so JC could have a word with him/her), Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Carson.
RTE: Who would you least like to be stuck in a lift with?
Grabenstein: That LRWFM.
RTE: What inspired you to start writing?
Grabenstein: A teacher in the fifth grade.
RTE: Where would you most like to live?
Grabenstein: Right where I am! New York is the best.

Grabenstein: HELL HOLE: a locked stall mystery at a rest stop on the Garden State Parkway.
